What is Osteopathy?
At our clinic, we specialise in osteopathy, a holistic approach to health focusing on the manipulation of muscles and bones. Founded by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, osteopathy views the body as a unified whole where structure and function are interconnected. By addressing imbalances in the musculoskeletal system, osteopaths promote the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Our osteopaths use a variety of hands-on techniques, including stretching, gentle pressure, and resistance, tailored to each client’s needs to ensure holistic and effective treatment.
While osteopathy, chiropractic care, and physiotherapy all aim to improve musculoskeletal health, they differ in their methods. Chiropractic care primarily addresses spinal misalignments (subluxations) to enhance nervous system function through specific spinal adjustments. Physiotherapy, on the other hand, focuses on a broad range of movement disorders and physical performance using exercises, manual therapy, and education.
Our osteopathic treatments target the root causes of discomfort by considering your lifestyle and overall health, providing a personalised approach to wellness. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or looking to enhance your health, our osteopathy services can help you achieve your wellness goals.
